No Cooling at All

Cold Compressor

Unplug refrigerator, disconnect the compressor wiring, and connect a test cord or hard start kit directly to the compressor. (See Freon System Failures in Manual 7: Refrigerators and Freezers). Does the compressor seem to run fine, and begin cooling on the test cord? Run it for at least 30 minutes. Does it seem to run ok and cool?
