Compressor Runs on Test

If the compressor runs fine on the test cord, check the supply circuit to the compressor for 110 VAC. If power is present, the existing compressor starting circuit is faulty. Either permanently install a hard start kit (the fastest solution) or order and install a limit and starting relay (and a capacitor if one is in the circuit). If no power is found, trace the circuit as described under Lights Off (or, for more information, see Manual 5: Electricity Made Simple / Electrical Safety).
