Refrigerator Diagnostics

Assumptions:

All refrigeration systems are slow to react to changes in ambient conditions, control setting changes and nothing can be concluded quickly. Before panicking, keep the doors closed (quit checking every five minutes) and the refrigerator turned on for at least 40 minutes with both controls set to mid-range.

Automatic defrost cycle may shut down a refrigerator for 30 minutes. If after waiting, there still seems to be a problem, proceed with the following checks:

Choose the description that best describes the problem:

  1. Dead: No cooling at all.

  2. Some cooling, but it's just not right.

  3. Too cold.

  4. Leaking water.
