Water Leaks on the Floor

Water on the floor may occur for the following reasons:

  1. A cracked plastic line between the icemaker and the fill spout.

This usually occurs near the compressor where the line is subject to constant heat. Of course, this leak is only evident when the icemaker calls for water.

  2. A leaking water valve or feed line.

Visual inspection will easily uncover this situation.

  3. Defrost water

Often what may seem to be an ice maker problem will in fact be defrost water from the freezer (see Manual 7: Refrigerators and Freezers). Icemakers usually leak at the back near the fill tube; defrost water usually appears at the front or on top of the food.
