Water on the floor may occur for the following reasons:
A cracked plastic line between the icemaker and the fill spout.
This usually occurs near the compressor where the
line is subject to constant heat. Of course, this leak
is only evident when the icemaker calls for water.
Visual inspection will easily uncover this situation.
Defrost water
Often what may seem to be an ice maker problem
will in fact be defrost water from the freezer (see Manual 7: Refrigerators and
Freezers). Icemakers usually leak at the back near
the fill tube; defrost water usually appears at the
front or on top of the food.
