Gas and Electric Oven Diagnostics
Many oven repairs are obvious, such as broken door
hinges, broken door glass, damaged seals racks, and failed clocks.
These repairs may vary some from brand to brand but overall they are
not very difficult for an average mechanic: simply remove and replace.
For photographs and detailed explanations of such repairs, see Manual
11: Ranges, Cooktops and Ovens.
Problems with heat control are usually more challenging.
Such problems include:
Oven won't bake or broil at all.
Temperature is either too high or too low.
Oven will not self-clean.
